OVERVIEW

The butcher who cares

Good Hope Meat Hyper (GHMH) provides superior quality fresh Halaal meat to wholesale and retail clients throughout Cape Town.

Founded in 1972 and based in Salt River, Cape Town, this family-owned business offers a comprehensive range of meat and meat products, a continental deli, a hot deli filled with a variety of home-made dishes, a bakery, groceries, spices and more.

Good Hope Meat Hyper's success is based on solid business principles:

  • Superior quality
  • Knowledgeable staff and personal service
  • An extensive product range
  • Value for money
  • Innovative leadership

Quality approach
Good Hope Meat Hyper believes that the quality of its meat starts with the rigorous screening of abattoirs and suppliers, followed by the hand-selection of fresh meat. Once the meat arrives at our premises, stringent hygiene standards, modern equipment and knowledgeable staff ensure that our customers receive top-quality meat. We achieve consistency through regular quality and hygiene audits.

Building on sound leadership
The business principles that underpin the success of Good Hope Meat Hyper were initiated by the late Mr Dawood and Mrs Sharifa Ahmed in the 1970s. Under their leadership and vision, GHMH became one of the most respected success stories in the South African meat industry.

Their unwavering commitment to quality and care built a business that has become a household name in the immediate community and wider industry that Good Hope Meat Hyper is now serving.

Today, Good Hope Meat Hyper is a BEE-compliant company that continues to deliver exceptional quality and personal service. Based on solid management structures and sound corporate governance, it functions under the management and guidance of the Ahmed children – Reaaz, Naseema, Abeeda and Fayrooz.

It is this investment in quality and care that has kept customers coming back for almost four decades.
